IThere are about 630 All Party Parliamentary Groups to focus on many varied causes but not one single dedicated group to protect and defend UK's 35 million drivers
If there had been a dedicated drivers group in Parliament over the last 10 years, there would've been much more enlightened opposition to many draconian anti driver measures taken during that period.
To be re-considered
-
Subjective fixed penalty for careless driving.
-
Routine & unnecessary arrest of drivers after a fatal accident
-
Long jail terms for drivers after a pure accident with no aggravated driver actions.
-
Prolonged and unnecessary road closures after accidents
-
Profiteering from road safety
-
Profiteering from prosecution of perfectly safe drivers
-
Spurious reasons to fail MOTs
-
Blanket speed zones
-
Devolution of prosecutions to local authorities
-
Unnecessary parking restrictions.
